Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Annual appressed-hairy herb 10-30(-50) cm tall; stems ascending, profusely branching.
Ecology : Wadis; sandy reg, galb and kedia; gueltas; clayey grara with Euphorbia balsamifera, E. echinus; also in gardens probably as a weed; humid mud; to 2300 m alt.
  Variable species; intermadiates between it and L. schimperi occur. Boulos n Fl. Agypt 1: 298, 1999 only recognizes one species (L. glinoides).
  Canary Isl.; Morocco, S. Algeria, Libya, Egypt; Arabia, Palestine, Jordan.
  Comprises 3 vars.
  Not in Ethiopia (= L. schimperi ); not in Sudan (= L. arabicus ).
