Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Sostly hairy annual herb; stems prostrate to ascending, arising from the base, 20-60(-90) cm long; corolla yellow, c. 4 mm long; pod of 3(-5) coils, spiny (or spinaless).
Ecology : Grassland, disturbed ground, pastures, roadsides, usually in sandy places; 1150-1425 m alt. (Somalia), 1650(3050 m (Ethiopia).
  Canary Isl., N. Africa; Socotra; Europe north to S Sweden; S. Asia.
