Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Annual herb 5-25 cm tall, appressed hairy; stems erect or ascending, branched especially from the base.
Ecology : A weed on edges of irrigated fields, cultivations; grassland in open sunny spots; rock crevices; 1000-3100 m alt. (Ethiopia); naturalized in Sudan, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Fl. Zambes. Area, S. Africa; and in many temperate regions (e.g. Argentina).
  Native of Europe (except extreme N and E), Mediterranean region, Egypt, W Asia-Middle East.
