Biology : Twining or trailing perennial herb 1,2-6 m long; stems tough, creeping and bearing adventitions roots below; stem spersely covered with appressed hairs to densely covered with spreading ferruginous hairs, or glabrescent.
Ecology : Fresh water shores: swampy grassland; seasonally wet grassland; reedy and sandy lake shores; swamp forest; Papyrus swamps; streams sides; forest edges; 0-2200 m alt.
