Trop. Afr.
Biology : Perennial acaulescent herb or sometimes with a distinct aerial stem wiry with numerous branches divaricate-ascending. 1,2 cm , at the base of the rhizome; leaves in a rosette, but sometimes spaced.
Ecology : Occasional weed in grassland and at riverine forest edges, on sandy loam, appearing after the first rain; bamboo scrub; 830- 3130 m alt. Comprises 2 (or 3?) vars. (see under O. trichophylla). Egypt.
