Biology : Bulb obovoid, 4-8 cm long, 5 cm Ø, the outer scales often dark and glossy with pink markings; leaves c. 10, partly emerged at anthesis, glaucous, erect, firm, spirally twisted, to 16x1-3 cm, venation prominent, margin discolorous; inflorescences to 10, to 25 cm long, usually flexuose, with 50-150 flowers; pedicels to 10 mm long; flowers pale maroon; segments to 5 mm long, 1,5 mm wide, recurved, margin whitish, mid-nerve green beneath; capsule not described.
