Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Shrub or tree, much-branched, to 13 m tall, with trunk to 20 cm; branchlets sometimes with axillary spines.
Ecology : Rain-forest to riparian forest and scrub; dry evergreen forest; sometimes in open wooded grassland; semi-evergreen or deciduous bushland; rocky limestone slopes; 600-3050 m alt. Also in S Sudan (Imatong Mts.). Socotra.
