Biology : Much-branched shrub or tree with spiny stem and branches to 6 m tall; spines axillary, numerous, slender, straight and very acute, to 4 cm long.
Ecology : Dry woodland or bush; riverine thickets; Brachystegia woodland; also on limestone and coral rocks; 1-500 m alt.
