Biology : Perennial herb, semi-erect or decumbent; tuber rarely longer than 5 cm, rarely branched; branches 15-20(-40) cm long.
Ecology : Sandy soils (Kalahari sands); disturbed places in bushland; 50- 600 m alt. S. Africa (Cape, Transvaal), Namibia, Botswana.
