Biology : Monoecious shrub or tree 4-18 m tall; bole 9-35 cm Ø, sometimes with stilt roots.
Ecology : Periodically flooded forest with Guibourtia demeusei; riverine formations with Uapaca heudelotii, Irvingia smithii; rarely in swampy forest; to 500 m alt. in Zaire; to 700 m in Angola.
