Biology : Shrub to 4 m tall (rarely annual or perennial herb, 0,6-1,5 m and more), sometimes scrambling; ±tomentose all over.
Ecology : (Moist) forest edges and clearings, secondary forest, disturbed bushland, roadsides; damp wooded and shrubby places, river banks; grassy places; savanna; fallow land or old native cultivations as a weed; (330-)1080-2600 m alt.
  Namibia; S tropical America.
