Ecology : Very widespread, showing a wide range in altitudinal and ecological tolerance; forest edges, old cultivations, bushland (Kenya); 80-3580 m alt. Comprises 2 subspp. Somalia? (see Nord. J. Bot. 16: 298, 1996).
