Ecology and distribution

Biology : Shrub up to 1,5 m high, rarely to 2,5 m when supported by surrounding vegetation; stem erect, branching from the base and above
Ecology : On bare granite outcrops or quartzite rocks, in cracks and hollows, and amongst boulders, in exposed situations with grass tussocks or in light Brachystegia woodland; 480-2200 m alt.
  Forming hybrids with other species where occurring together, e.g. with A. christianii and A. greatheadii (in Zimbabwe).
  Not in Botswana, but cultivated there.
