Biology : Epiphytic herb; pseudobulbs 2-leaved, ovoid-ellipsoid, 1-8 cm apart, slightly flattened, 4-6-angled, 1-4x0,5-1 cm; leaves elliptic-lanceolate, 1-7x0,5-2 cm, present at anthesis; inflorescence 5-16 cm long, 6-50-flowered; rachis flattened, 4-angled, densely pubescent like the sepals; flowers yellow to orange to red, arising from 2 concave opposite sides; bracts as long as flowers (4-6x2-4 mm); sepals ovate, 3-6x1,5-3 mm; petals obliquely linear, 2-3x0,5 mm; lip straight, elliptic, 1-2,5x1mm, with median ridge.
Ecology : Forest; in moss cushions; 0-1000 m alt.
  In Fl. Trop. E. Afr., Orchid. 2: 313, 1984, B. acutibracteatum is considered a synonym of B. oreonastes. Marshall & Hawthorne in their Checklist north. Nimba County, Liberia, 2013: 441, treat B. fuscum var. fuscum as a synonym of var. rubrobrunneopapillosum.
