Biology : Creeping or erect, much-branched, perennial herb without leat rosette, sometimes forming dense clumps to 1 m tall; stems slender, terate, purplish, ± branched, ascending.
Ecology : Moist ground in bogs, along small streams, at forest margins, especially in the ericaceous belt; upland moor and grassland; moist bamboo thickets; Phragmites swamps; wet mineral soils; scrambling over stones and logs; 1470-4250 m alt.
