Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Herb to 60-150(-300) cm high, annual or sometimes short-lived upright or ascending stems, 4-17 cm long; leaves whorled.
Ecology : Weed of cultivation, roadsides, waste places; 760-2300 m alt. Europe, Mediterranean Region, eastwards to India and ? Mongolia; S. Africa, Botswana; adventitious in N. America.
