Ecology : Swampy ground (“mbugas”), grassy places on lava, pool edges, trickles in sandy gullies, seasonal sand-rivers; weed in rice- fields; marshes, muddy ditches, reed-beds, in spray of waterfalls; 0-1750 m alt.
