Ecology and distribution

Biology : Suffrutex or slender-stemmed shrublet (5-)15-40(-75) cm tall, sparsely hairy to tomentose, usually branching only towards top; leaflets linear, stipules absent; flowers yellow, turning reddish-brown, ometimes few at branch-ends; pod many-seeded.
Ecology : Ecology poorly known; dry hillside; grassland with Brachystegia spiciformis and Ericaceae; (?-)1400-1750 m alt.
  S. Africa, Swaziland.
  Comprises 4 subspp.; subsp. filifolia (Bolus) Polhill; subsp. marginata (Schinz) Polhill; subsp. swaziensis (Bolus) Polhill in S. Africa and Swaziland.
  Very variable species aggregate, including 10 of the 11 species cited by Dummer in 1912, and another one added by Burtt Davy in 1932.
