Biology : Shrublet (0,3-1m), shrub or tree 3-10 m tall; sometimes semi-climber or climber with tendrils.
Ecology : Woodland; wooded grassland; Kalahari sands; Baikiaea mutemwa; abandoned cultivations; fire-climax scrub communities where it is often co-dominant with Baphia obovata; escarpment miombo; termite mounds; 30-1830 m alt.
  Botswana, S. Africa; Caprivi Strip.
  Comprises 2 subspp. (only overlapping in the area of Victoria falls, otherwise geographically distinct).
