Biology : Erect, irregularly branched shrub 1-5 m tall; stems at first pubescent, glabrescent or setulose-hairy, but bark soon breaking down to form a distinctive reddish-brown powdery coating.
Ecology : Brachystegia, Uapaca woodland; bushland including secondary Brachystegia, Julbernardia associations; often on rocky slopes; 480-2200 m alt.
