Ecology : Acacia-tall grass open forest zone; grassland; moist depressions with Oryza in broad-leaved deciduous woodland; low lying clay soil near river; swampy places; roadside gutter; savanna and savanna forest.
  Comprises 2 subspp.
  Near S. hepperi. Disjunct W-E area.
