Biology : Prostrate, ascending or suberect pyrophytic herb, with several to many unbranched or sparsely branched stems 10-45 cm long, from a woody rootstock; stems with dense covering of short pubescence and longer ferruginous rather bristly hairs.
Ecology : Seasonally burnt grassland; Brachystegia and Acacia woodland; coastal dry forest; roadsides; cultivations; dambo edges; open plains in Kalahari sand woodland; Baikiaea scrub etc.; hardpans; wooded grassland; 50-1750 m alt.
  Botswana, S. Africa.
