Biology : Ferruginous and pubescent perennial herb 15-20 cm tall, with sub-caespitose prostrate-ascending, rather slender stems arising from a knotty, branched rootstock with elongated fusiform tubers.
Ecology : Wooded thickets; grassy savanna (very abundant); 1797-1900 m alt.
  Comprises 2 vars.
  Is perhaps a synonym under E. rhynchosioides.
