Biology : Erect to straggling or diffusely branched, cushion-like herb or in the first year), probably rather short-lived, 20-60 cm tall.
Ecology : Sand banks, sandy soil or broken ground; grassland and vleis; 450-1300 m alt. S. Africa, Botswana, Caprivi Strip, Namibia. Comprises 2 subspp. in trop. Africa.
