Biology : Shrub or tree 1-12(>20) m; bole 5-7 m, 0,5-1 m DBH; crown spreading, rounded; also an undershrub 20-40 cm tall in fallow and (Cameroon, Mts Mandaras fide Aubréville).
Ecology : Deciduous woodland, sometimes dominant or co-dominant; open forests; gravelly, lateritic or muddy soils; often gregarious; 600-2100 m alt.
