Biology : Tree 7,5-10(-35) m; bole curved and with a somewhat columnar or pyramidal crown; branchlets with reddish-brown mostly spreading hairs at the tips, soon glabrescent, covered with closely arranged lenticels; panicle to 40 (-? 60) cm long.
Ecology : Riverine forest; rain-forest; woodland on grey clay with Ficus sycomorus, Piliostigma thonningii, Lonchocarpus laxiflorus; fine gravelly places; hollows; marigot edges; sands; scattered; rather rare; 700-1200 m alt.
