Biology : Bushy shrub or tree 0,75-4,5 m tall, sometimes branching below ground level; evergreen or deciduous; frequently galled; branches ±ascending, flattened, with bark frequently peeling at first.
Ecology : Deciduous woodland and in forest margins and scrub; usually on sandy soils; 0-300 m alt. S. Africa, Swaziland. Variable.
