Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Shrub or tree 2-6(-12) m tall; branches rather stout, ±compressed 'and angular or striate at first.
Ecology : Swamp forest and drier evergreen forest; 850-1500 m alt. C. hiernii and C. bukobensis, respectively, appear to constitute opposite ends of a cline (fide Fl. Zambes. 2(1): 257, 1963).
