Biology : Tree 10-15 m; bole 20-30 cm ; branches ascending to form a narrow crown; suckering freely; flowering at the time of defoliation; usually with stunted and gnarled trunk; fruits broader than those of L. alata, to 2 cm broad.
Ecology : Wooded savanna; 530 (and less?)-1100 m alt. One of the first colonizers of newly cleared forest.
