Ecology : Monospecific genus in tropical Africa (map in Pridgeon & al., Gen. orchid. 6: 407, 2014). “At various times expanded to include diverse African angraecoid genera” (Pridgeon & al., o.c.: 405): see synonyms. Rolfe (in Fl. Trop. Afr. 7: 150-169, 1897) listed 52 species.
