Biology : Herb solitary, 20-35 cm tall; corm c. 1,5 cm Ø; leaf 1, channelled, 15-25 cm long, 3-6 mm wide, seldom reaching beyond the midline of the spathes, inserted shortly above ground level; stem simple; bract leaves 2, usually overlapping; flowers pale yellow with deeper yellow nectar guides; outer tepals 5,5-7 cm long; inner ones 3,5-4,8 cm long.
Ecology : Open grassland; > 2000 m alt.
  Related to the M. textilis complex: M. verdickii, M. brevifolia, M. clavata.
