Biology : Caulescent trailing perennial, but sometimes apparently 10 cm long.
Ecology : Boggy places and seepage areas in short grassland and in open spaces in Brachystegia woodland; rarely on wet rocks; marshes, swamps. Rare in acide marshes, in Kenya, 1900-2500 m alt. S. Africa, Swaziland, Botswana; Madagascar.
