  ± 1950-± 2200 m alt.
  With D. afromontana reaching the upper altitudinal limit in Africa.One of the rather few endemics from the forest of SW Ethiopia with Amorphophallus gambozianus, Baphia abyssinica, Haemanthus nutans, Streptocarpus phaeotrichus.
