Biology : Shrub or tree, monoecious, to 15m tall (or to 40m?); leafy twigs 1-4mm thick, sparsely appressed-puberulous; inflorescences unisexual, in the leaf-axils, discoid-capitate, involucrate; fruit a drupe-like structure with enlarged fleshy red receptacle.
Ecology : Rain-forest. 500-1300 m alt.
  São Tomé. – Disjunct area W-E.
