Ecology : Montane forest edges; along rivers; higher-rainfall woodland; on various hosts (e. g. Maprounea, Syzygium, Tecomaria). 350-1600 m alt.
  Rarely collected. Similar to the more southerly E. ngamicum, but bracts forming a leafy involucre.
