Biology : Straggling herb or deciduous softly woody climber; stems slender, becoming rather woody and thickened with thin smooth greyish bark and weak spines formed by the persistent petiole bases; rootstock perennial, fibrous, thickened.
Ecology : Deciduous or semi-desert bushland on gypsum or limestone, semi-desert grassland; 175-1080 m alt.
