Biology : Perennial climber to 6 m long, arising from a convex semi-subterranean tuberous rootstock; young stems herbaceous, becoming more woody and grey-barked when older.
Ecology : Evergreen forest, deciduous woodland, dry Acacia- Commiphora bushland, wooded grassland and thicket; 180- 1100 m alt. Namibia.
