Biology : Herb with prostrate or scandent stems, when older softly woody with smooth bark.
Ecology : Deciduous woodland; Chlorophora-Milletia and Brachystegia forest and woodland, and clearings; grassland, bushland; 350- 1050 m alt. Botswana, Namibia, S. Africa; Comoro Isl., NW Madagascar. C. poissonii is perhaps a distinct species.
