Biology : Climbing or trailing perennial, slender herb; stems to 2-5 m long arising from a tuber, with furrowed papery bark; when old, like the rootstock, with rough bark.
Ecology : Deciduous woodland, grassland, often in thickets on termitemounds or rock outcrops; fallow land on sandy-clayey soil; 1000-1500 m alt. Caprivi Strip.
