Ecology : Coastal dwarf-bushland dominated by Suaeda spp., also in inland saline sites; sandy plains, stony places (reg), desert wadis; 0-400 m alt. Canary and Cap Verde Isl.; N Africa; Arabia, Socotra, Abd el Kuri; Iraq, Jordan, Palestine eastwards to India.
  From Senegal and Mauritania, Mali, Chad? to Sudan, Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia.
