Biology : Shrub or woody herb, much-branded, procumbent or sprawling thickened and subwoody with a smooth white bark, 40 cm long.
Ecology : Flood-plains, pans and valley grasslands; (sub-)saline or greywhite soils; to 1000 m alt. (Kenya). Mediterranian Region to Syria and Jordan; Mauritius, Madagascar. Disjunct area?
