Biology : Herb; rhizome vertical, 0,5-0,7 cm Ø, with spreading tuberous roots; leaves 1-2; petiole subterranean, 3,5-8 cm long; blade subcircular, shortly and narrowly cordate, 6-21x6-19 cm, adpressed to soil surface; basal lobes very short, ± overlapping; inflorescences 1-2, appearing with leaves; peduncle subterranean; spathe with base of tube ± subterranean; spathe erect, 7-12 cm long, pale green; tube 2,5-6 x 0,5-0,8 cm, cylindric; limb elliptic-lanceolate, 4,5-5,5x1,3-1,7 cm, greenish-yellow inside, acute-acuminate with twisted subulate cusp; spadix 3-4 cm long; berries subglobose-polyhedral, 6x5-7 mm, papillose.
Ecology : Deciduous bushland; termite hills in Brachystegia woodland; forest floor; 20-900 m alt.
  First found in Mozambique in 2003.
