Biology : A vigorous climber; juvenile leaves ovate-cordate 10x10 cm, entire, green with yellowish blotches; adult leaves oblong-ovate, to 75x40 cm, irregularly pinnatifid, petiole to 40 cm long with sheath with marcescent margins, reaching the blade; spathe broadly boat-shaped, soon deciduous; spadix cylindrical, shorter than spathe.
Ecology : Cultivated in tropical Africa, becoming an invasive plant near villages in, e.g., Cameroon
