Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Climbing herb to 1,5-5 m high; pseudostem 2-5 mm Ø; leaf petiole 2,5-10,5 cm long; blade oblong-elliptic, 6,5-23,5x4-9,5 cm, base very shortly cordate to subtruncate, apex acute, glandular, translucent lines present; inflorescences 1-2; peduncle 3-6,5 cm; spathe dull greenish- purple, 3,5-4,5 cm long, apex obtuse; spadix often exserted; berries globose.
Ecology : Bushland. Sometimes epiphytic; swampy forest; 1-400 m alt.
