Ecology and distribution
Trop. Afr.
Biology : Slender herb 30-80 cm tall; rhizome thick with slender roots and neck with a few bristles; leaves linear, 5-6, 30x1-2,5 cm, glabrous, with c. 20 lateral nerves on each side of midrib, margins minutely scabrid; peduncle 7,5-15 cm long, flattened; panicle 7,5-60 cm long, with several branches over 3 cm long above, rachis flattened; flowers usually paired, bracts minute; pedicels jointed near base; perianth white, 6 mm long; capsule 5 mm Ø, strongly ribbed.
Ecology : Dried-up mud; damp sites in rocky savanna.
