Biology : Herb to 30 cm tall; leaves narrow, thin, flat, in a rosette, 15-30 cm long; peduncle simple; inflorescence few-flowered; flowers shiny white; tepals c. 1 cm long; capsule subcordate, 10x8 mm; seeds large (c. 3 mm Ø). – Similar to C. comosum.
Ecology : In S. Africa: thicket, forest, in shade.
  There are some reports of this species from S Mozambique (Fl. Zambes. 13/1: 81, 2008), but no specimens have been seen by Kativu & al. in this area. – Not mapped by us.
