Biology : Herb from a short rhizome; roots without tubers; leaves several, basal, filiform, 5-13x1-2 mm, often strongly curved, folded, glabrous, margins minutely denticulate; raceme 5-24 cm long, very lax, simple, prostrate or nearly so, glabrous; flowers 1-2 per node; bracts 1,5-3 mm long; pedicels articulated near middle or in lower half, ± curved; tepals white, medially greenish, c. 2,8 mm long, 3-nerved; capsule c. 3,5-5 mm.
Ecology : Coastal, open dunes, open bushland; white or pale orange sand; c. 10-30 m alt.
  Near C. inconspicuum.
  Possibly in Tanzania (Mafia Isl.); more material needed for further study.
