Annual herb, completely or partially submerged in water; culms 5-25 cm long, 0,4-0,8 mm Ø, trigonous, smooth; leaves basal; sheath straw-coloured yellow, 2,5-4 cm long; blade flat, c. 8-18 cm long, 0,5-1,5 mm wide, acuminae, glabrous; inflorescence a simple anthela of 1 sessile spikelet and 4-5 stalked spikelets, rays 5-8,5 cm long; spikelets lanceolate, 0,8-1,2 cm x 1,7-2 mm. – Neither leaves nor culm able to support themselves out of the water. |
