Biology : Annual herb; culms tufted ?, 23-38 cm long, c. 1 mm Ø, triquetrous, smooth; leaf sheath pale brown, 2,2-3,5 cm long, sometimes ± purplish at base; blade linear, 10-17 cm x1,2-1,6 mm, acuminate, apex scabrid; inflorescence simple with primary branches 1-2, 2-5,3 cm long; spikelets in loosely digitate clusters at end of primary branches, at least one cluster sessile; spikelets 3-5 per cluster, ovoid, 1,2-1,5 cm x 4 mm (after fruiting to 3,4 cm long).
Ecology : Swamp; rice fields; muddy pool in open; 950-1350 m alt.
