Biology : Annual herb; culms tufted, 10-30 cm long, 0,6-1 mm Ø, trigonous to rounded, smooth; leaf sheath brown, 1,7-4,5 cm long, often with a purplish base; blade linear, folded, 4,7-16,5 cm x 0,8-1 mm, acute, glabrous; inflorescence loosely capitate; spikelets ± sessile, 2-11 per head, ovoid, 1-1,5 cm x 2,8-3,8 mm.
Ecology : Seasonally moist depression; wet grassland; ditches at roadsides; 1000-2300 m alt.
